Plenty of Queen Anne's County travel goes to Reagan National rather than BWI, and it is almost always the same two reasons: a Washington meeting where DCA is simply closer to the office, or a short-haul flight that only leaves from there.
It is the longer run of the two, around ninety minutes from Chester or Stevensville depending on the bridge and the Beltway. That is precisely why it is worth booking rather than driving: you would be paying to park a car at National for the length of the trip, and the return leg lands you at the curb at the end of a long day instead of at a shuttle stop.
Tolls are billed at cost. Gratuity is customary at 15 to 20 percent and is never added to your fare automatically.
The leg people forget is the one that matters more. Landing at DCA at ten at night, ninety minutes from home with nobody to call, is how a good trip ends badly. Book both directions at once and your name is on a sign at arrivals.
