If you live on Kent Island and you have a 7am flight out of BWI, you already know the arithmetic. You need to be moving by half past four. The rideshare apps out here are thin at the best of times and effectively empty before dawn, and the one time you need them to work is the one time nobody accepts. So people drive themselves and pay to leave a car in long term parking for a week, or they ask a neighbour to get up at four in the morning.

The return leg is the one most people forget to book, and it is the one that matters more. Landing at BWI at eleven at night, forty five minutes from home with nobody to call, is how a good trip ends badly. Book both legs at once and your name is on a sign at the arrivals curb.
