When you request a ride, by the form on this site or over the phone, we collect what we need to drive you:
When you browse the site we also collect basic visit information: the pages you view, the site that sent you, your approximate location from your IP address, and whether you tapped a call or text link. That comes from Google Analytics, which uses cookies, and a simple visit counter run for us by Easton Automations, which does not.
We do not ask for and do not want your payment card details, your Social Security number, or your date of birth.
Top Hat Transportation Services may send you SMS text messages about a ride you have asked for: booking confirmations, pickup and driver confirmations, and trip updates such as a delay.
Texting is optional. The checkbox on our booking form is unchecked until you check it, and if you leave it alone we will call you to confirm your ride.
We do not sell or rent your information to anybody. We share it only where a trip or a reply requires it:
We keep trip records for as long as we need them to run the booking and to satisfy the tax and insurance records a business has to hold. We keep a record of your text message consent while you are opted in, and for four years after you opt out, because our phone carriers can ask us to show when and how consent was given. You can ask us to delete anything we are not required to keep.
This site is served over an encrypted connection, and bookings reach us by email and by our booking system rather than sitting on this website. We keep access to that information to the people who need it to run the trips.
This is a car service for adults booking rides, and the site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. Children ride with us all the time, of course, but the booking is made by an adult.
If we change this policy we will change the effective date at the top of the page. If the change affects text messages, the booking form will say so too.
